AMIT ANNOUNCES SUMMER AND FALL MISSIONS

June 8, 2004, New York City...... AMIT is now accepting reservations for two major missions - a one-week mission to Poland and Israel, set to leave on August 25, 2004, and returning September 4, and a national mission to Israel, scheduled for November 4 to 11, 2004. Space on both missions is limited; those interested should call the AMIT Mission Desk at 212-477-4720 or 1-800-989-AMIT, ext. 117, as soon as possible.

The summer mission to Poland and Israel has been titled "Confronting the Past - Celebrating the Future." Participants will be joined on the journey by a select group of students from the AMIT Renanim Junior and Senior Science and Technology High School for Girls in Ra'anana.

The mission will go to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Treblinka. Shabbat will be spent in the city of Krakow. Participants also will visit the Jewish ghetto of Kazimisz, the industrial plant operated by Oskar Schindler, and the site of the Warsaw Ghetto.

In Israel, the mission will visit several major sites of interest, as well as AMIT schools and children's homes.

The price per person, based on double occupancy, is $2,800. This includes roundtrip airfare on Lot and El Al Airlines, five star hotels, Israeli and Polish security and guides, and two glatt kosher meals a day, plus full board on Shabbat.

The fall mission to Israel is being chaired by Helene Zisholtz, national missions chair and a member of the National Board of AMIT. This mission will afford participants the opportunity to get a close look at the AMIT Network of schools and programs in Israel, meeting with students, faculty and educational administrators.

Mission highlights will include the dedication of the Harvey Goodstein Sports Complex at AMIT Kfar Batya in Ra'anana; visits to several AMIT facilities, including the newest AMIT schools in Ma'ale Adumim; an overnight stay in a Druze village; briefings by IDF officers, government officials and business leaders; a day at the luxurious spa in Safed; and opportunities to meet and work, hands-on, with AMIT children.

Since 1925, AMIT has been at the forefront of education in Israel, nurturing and educating Israeli children to become productive, contributing members of society. A majority of AMIT's 14,000 children come from economically disadvantaged and/or troubled families. They reflect all Israel: sabra and new immigrant; religious and secular; Ashkenazi, Sephardi and every nation of the Jewish Diaspora. Today, significant numbers of AMIT students are immigrants from Ethiopia and the Former Soviet Union. AMIT's 60 schools, youth villages, surrogate family residences and other programs constitute Israel's only government-recognized network of religious Jewish education incorporating academic and technological studies. AMIT is the world's leading supporter of religious Zionist education and social services for Israeli youth.
