SCHOOL SYSTEM IN MAALEH ADUMIM JOINS AMIT NETWORK

July 2, 2003...... The religious school system of Maaleh Adumim, a city of 30,000 people located just outside of Jerusalem, is the latest addition to the AMIT network of educational facilities in Israel. Maaleh Adumim is the largest Jewish community on the West Bank and was declared an Israeli city in 1992.

The AMIT education system in Maaleh Adumim will be built on a foundation of two existing elementary schools with a total enrollment of 800 students. Plans call for a junior high school to be opened this coming academic year with two seventh grade classes, with a new grade added each year until AMIT has put in place an educational system from first grade through high school.

The schools will offer a full curriculum of Jewish studies, as well as the sciences and humanities. Boys and girls will learn in separate classes, though in the same building where both can use resources such as libraries, laboratories and sports facilities.
