AMIT SCHEDULES 80TH ANNIVERSARY SCHOLARSHIP FUND DINNER
New York, October 21, 2005...... AMIT’s 80th Anniversary Scholarship Fund Dinner has been scheduled for Sunday evening, November 20, 2005, at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City. Hundreds of members, friends and supporters of AMIT from throughout the tri-state area are expected to attend. All proceeds will benefit AMIT’s network of 60 schools and programs serving more than 16,000 children in Israel.
Suzanne and Stuart Weilgus of Monsey, New York, will be honored with the AMIT Guardians of the Children Award. The New Leadership Award will be presented to Peggy and Philip Danishefsky of New York City. Marvin Leff, executive director of AMIT who is retiring after almost 30 years at the helm of the organization, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr. Leff is a resident of Far Rockaway, New York.
The AMIT 80th Anniversary Scholarship Dinner is being chaired by Debbie and Samuel Moed of Englewood, New Jersey. Mrs. Moed chairs AMIT’s New Generation Board of Directors.
Brenda and Albert Kalter are chairing the 2005 Tribute Journal. Mrs. Kalter is an AMIT national vice president and the Kalters are residents of Woodmere, New York.
