AMIT children and their families need our help!
The residents of Sderot, a struggling development town just miles from the Gaza Strip, are family to AMIT. AMIT is the sole provider of modern religious education in the Sderot and both of the city's high schools, the religious and the secular, are AMIT schools. Altogether, we have almost 2,000 students in our care.
Since February of 2009, a nervous quiet has covered Sderot. There have been virtually no Qassam rockets launched from Gaza and the town is slowly rebuilding and returning to normal. Many children are still traumatized and suffer from depression, post-traumatic disorders, stress and an overriding fear of the "next" Red Alert.
Every one of our schools in Sderot has a shelter. Every AMIT playground has a concrete barrier beneath which the children run when they hear the sirens, warning of incoming rockets. AMIT is ready. But, we need your help to help the children of Sderot.
